Jack's policy is never to decline to help somebody who's
asked for it due to financial considerations. So, he has devised a system
of extremely flexible payment options that can fit virtually any budget.
It combines elements of both the honor system, and sliding scale relative
to how much you can afford to pay.
If you can afford $55.00 per month,
then you can afford the opportunity to work with Jack. If you can't afford
$55.00 per month, then either doing this work isn't that important to
you, or you're way too poor, and you need to figure out how to make enough
money to pay the things that are important in life.
Jack's regular fee is $105.00 per session. Sessions run a minimum
of one-hour, but usually run over that, and strict attention is not
paid to the clock. If you run over, there is no extra charge. If you
can afford to pay the full fee, you are expected to. There is one standard
rule that always applies: this work is only effective for those
for whom it is a top priority in life, and who are willing to pay for
it.
Jack does offer a sliding fee scale. The minimum fee is $55,00
per session. Here is where the honor system comes into play. If
you cannot afford to pay the full fee, then figure out how much you
are able to pay per month. On this basis, a plan can be worked out.
For example, if you are only able to pay $200.00 per month, you would
be eligible for 3-sessions per month, at $66.67 per session.
Each month must be pre-paid.
Frequency of sessions & time frame for the total
work
Jack recommends that all possible students think in terms of doing
one session per week. This is what works the most effectively. Students,
like the above example, who must skip a week every month, or who must
do sessions every other week, should be aware that that's not the most
optimally effective arrangement, but it is definitely better than nothing,
particularly since you are working with somebody of Jack's caliber.
At the very least, for $55.00 per month, you have the opportunity to
do one session per month with Jack, and that is definitely getting
your foot in the door.
There is no set time frame for the total length of the teaching, and
it's best for students not to think in terms of limited time frames.
For example: "I'll do it for two-months, and see how it goes."
It is a fact of life that this type of work does take time. Most of
us have been conditioned (brainwashed) by our very sick culture for
at least several decades, and it takes time to undo all this. Plus,
it's another sad fact of life that most people resist change, and are
very stubborn as far as clinging to established attitudes and beliefs.
It's called staying in your "comfort zone." Even for the
most ardent student, the mind is a ruthless trickster. That is part
of the nature of the work. And this is an important part of what we
learn about ourselves.
Those students who take the work seriously, and who have a solid commitment
to developing their full potential, learn another critical lesson.
There comes a point where this path of awareness becomes very pleasurable,
and a life-style. It is a project that never ends, and one that becomes
a primary source of fulfillment and meaning in our lives. There are
no limits to our potential to learn. As Castaneda's Don Juan once said,
"Our lot is to learn, and to be hurled into inconceivable new
worlds." Finishing their apprenticeship with Jack means these
students have internalized enough of the lessons that they can continue
the journey on their own. And almost inevitably, part of this journey
then becomes sharing these teachings with others.
